OUR PROGRAMS
My School offers two programs:
The hours are 9:05 to 11:30 a.m. Each program has a maximum of 24 children supervised by two ECE-trained teachers assisted by three duty parents. Philosophy: Play is essential to the way a child learns and develops. During play, the child has mastery of his own environment which promotes socialization, independence, and self-confidence. It is essential that he has time to work through the play experience. This is the way a child explores and orients himself within the real world of space and time, of things, animals and people. Due to the importance of play to a preschool child's development, our program has a lengthy, unstructured playtime. During this time, the children have an opportunity to choose their own area of interest, e.g. dramatic play, blocks, library, play dough, puzzles, construction toys, painting and craft activities. The atmosphere for play, the materials and the people all contribute to a child's successful play experience.
Fees: Our 2007/2008 fees are as follows:
Please note that fees for the 2008/2009 school year will be set in June 2008. A yearly membership fee of $25 per family is to be paid to the Co-operative upon registration for the following school year. A fee of $17.50 is also required to cover the cost of processing a Criminal Reference Check. Any additional caregivers participating in the school will be charged an extra fee to cover the cost of the Reference Check. Postdated cheques covering the monthly tuition fees for the school year must be paid to the treasurer before the start of school. First and last month cheques must be submitted together. The monthly fee is not dependent upon the number of actual school days in a particular month; it is an equal amount for all months. The fees are set on a yearly basis.
